Questions and Answers

Is the WiNose evolution LIMS compatible with earlier models of the TO-series?

Answer: Currently the WiNose evolution LIMS is only compatible with the TO evolution. We do have plans to make it compatible with our former TO-series however.

Can data from the old TO-software be imported?

Answer: Panellist and laboratory data can be imported.

Do I require a permanent internet connection?

Answer: No, both the TO evolution control software and the WiNose evolution LIMS can be used offline. However, to benefit from automatic updates we recommend a regular internet connection.

What dilution technology was used?

Answer: The TO evolution uses proprietary technology, using calibrated restrictions, minimising internal volume and providing ultra fast response in dilution changes.

Can I still use our old compressor when switching from a TO-series device?

Answer: In general, yes, if the number of panellist stations is the same. A more powerful compressor may be required if switching from a 4 to a 6-station olfactometer.

How much sample volume is required for the new olfactometer? Can I continue to use my old sampling device?

Answer: In normal operation, the olfactometer needs 8-10 liters of sample. For 6-station Dual-Forced Choice with a presentation time of 15 seconds per dilution step for each panellist it can be necessary to use a higher sample volume if the sample has a low sample concentrations.

How can we maintain our lab operations during calibration or maintenance of our equipment?

Answer: If desired you can reserve a replacement unit for the duration of your calibration or maintenance which we send to you in advance, minimizing the downtime of your laboratory.

How does working with an exchange dilution unit comply with our accreditation?

Answer: Our exchange dilution units are always calibrated before being shipped as replacement units. With the replacement unit you will receive a corresponding calibration certificate as well as a calibration set file to be imported in your WiNose evolution LIMS.
